My Favorite Comments from Ron Paul Supporters

Ron Paul supporters all too often take a bashing from talking heads and media pundits.

I, however, have found some of their comments to be sterling examples of logic, wit, and creativity.

This article is a place where I intend to cut and paste some of my favorites from time to time.

DISCLAIMER: I did not write these comments, nor do I necessarily agree with or endorse them all - however, I DO find them all quite fascinating! :)

Blimp or no blimp in Boston on the 16th, here's why I am going to dump the contents of my wallet via a big credit card donation into Paul's campaign.

Over the years, the Preamble of the Constitution has decayed to this:

"We the Politicians of the United States, in order to form a more perfect advantage, handicap justice, insure domestic futility, provide for the common pretense, promote the general incumbent, and secure the blessings of power to ourselves and our posterity, do disdain and therefore revise this Constitution for the United States of America whenever we feel like it."
WHOA, I SAY WHOA NOW, WHATCHYALL THINK YOU'RE DOING!!!!
(I'm typing at the top of my voice here.)

Time to hire Dr. NO to put a stop to this arrogance and restore it to "WE THE PEOPLE..." You all how the orginal goes.....otherwise get yourself a copy of the Constitution to find out.

Ron Paul 2008

Honest Abe won in 1860,
Honest Ron wins in 2008

A nuclear power plant has an operating license with technical specifications that define the operating limits for the plant. Go outside those limits and the NRC shuts the plant down.

The Constitution defines the legal limits for the federal government. It has come to the attention of We the People who defined those limits, that the government is operating way outside it's authorized limits.

Time to order a plant/government shutdown and put a new operator at the controls to ensure future operation is within prescribed limits.

His name is Ron Paul. It is just that simple.

No complicated discussions about nuances and complexities of the Constitution are necessary.

That excitement over RP, combined with the lack of enthusiasm by supporters for other candidates, will become a PAGE ONE story in Feb 2008.

Ron Paul's support comes from Americans.

Those who hate the military, those who serve in the military. Those who go to church, those who spit on the sidewalk. Those who are black, white, and brown as well as those who don't like anybody with a different skin tone than themselves.

Those who own businesses, those who don't work.

Those who are "conspiracy nuts", those who simply know GW Bush needs to read the Constitution. Old people, students, baby boomers. Gays and straights. Rich and poor.

Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians.
All fed up with the status quo and realizing a vote for the lesser of two evils...is still evil.

What could possibly unite this diverse group?
We all know an honest man when we see him. We all know Govenment's primary function is supposed to be to protect liberty, not spend us into oblivion and lie to us at every opportunity.

Many of us have even read the bill of rights...imagine that!

Do I agree with everything Ron Paul says...no, do I think he's head and shoulders above the rest? Absolutely.

Google Ron Paul for President 2008.

Ron Paul, is fortunately, the right man for America, at the right time. Ron Paul wants to empower EVERY legal American to have the MAXIMUM possible opportunity to pursue happiness. Doing this requires reducing big government, paying down the debt, eliminating the income tax (NOT by substituting that with "FAIR" sales tax of 18% or 22% like some "good" Republicans), eliminating the IRS, restoring the great American promise of Liberty and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans. Ron Paul is NOT mainstream; that's why the Establishmnet is terribly afraid of him! I've made 61 orbits around Sol. Ron Paul is the best man for our times. Period.

"...political supporters of any stripe are a bit off..."

Oh, I couldn't agree more. All this "election" and "Democracy" stuff is sooo annoying. I wish we could just stop giving it all so much attention. It's really not very important. The people in charge are taking very good care of us and I trust them to protect us and do what's best for us, our progeny and our world, so let's not worry about it........Anybody seen any good movies lately?.....I just want some delicious bread and a good, bright and shiny circus.

I am seriously concerned about what I perceive to be a willingness, on the part of some of my brothers and sisters in Christ, to use the state to dictate solutions to the issues they cherish. That tactic has typically been used by the left; and now it appears that many who consider themselves godly individuals are following the same prescription. I wonder, what will be the result for evangelism, spreading the Gospel of Christ, our Priority Number One according to the Bible, should evangelical Christians be perceived as people who will ram their beliefs down others’ throats, happily applying state power to do so? I shudder at the prospect.

You’re right: Paul is not perfect. But he is the best hope that freedom-loving Americans have. That includes freedom-loving evangelicals.

A viewer comments on the You Tube Republican debate:
They could have gotten a robust and in-depth answer on the economy [from Ron Paul], but they gave that one to Huckabee. Really? Huckabee? The guy knows as much about monetary policy as I know about theology.

The Romney supporters are not Romneites. The Giuliani supports are not Giulianites. Why are the Ron Paul supporters Paulites? That is ridiculous. It is a label that the media has slapped on Ron Paul supporters in order to overgeneralize and oversimplify the diverse group of people that support Ron Paul. I am a supporter of Ron Paul, but not because I follow Ron Paul; rather, I follow Ron Paul because he best articulates my notions of limited government, free trade, and non-interventionism.

I have been a strong supporter of Bush and the war even while living for several of the war years in Europe. I experienced the shocked faces and counter opinions of Europeans to the opinions that I held. I thought that they were just listening to propaganda.

Then… our family returned to the USA only to find various horrors awaiting us such as NAIS (we are trying to hobby farm), national ID card, federal number tags on our rural wells, etc., etc., etc.

I began listening to Ron Paul and found that I had been the one believing the propaganda of the Republican party.

As far as what happens to the Republican party because of Ron Paul’s run, I really don’t care. I am done with their lies and their stealing of our freedom. If the party falls apart it is well deserved. They need a good kick for bamboozling us with their propaganda.

In hopes of freedom for my children’s children, JJ

A viewer comments on the You Tube Republican debate:
What I saw:

McCain seriously needs a history lesson about WW 2 and Vietnam.

Giuliani’s lie about his travel expenses in NY and his reading the bible regularly made me laugh out loud.

Romney can’t give a straight answer, I liked how he waffled on a few questions.

Huckabee comes off extremely over-rehearsed and plastic to me.

Tancredo and Hunter come off like the same person and highlight everything bad about the republicans.

They need to give Ron Paul more time, he’s the only one saying anything different.

I can only come to the conclusion that all these harsh Ron Paul critics hypocritically worship power while at the same time endlessly criticize it. It's the same-old same-old, as if it will be any different under the next Demothuglican. Paul represents a challenge to the elite and change, and that's what is truly behind his mass appeal. Those who fear a less regulated private sector should have greater fear of a powerful coercive violent public sector under private control.

Whereas, Bush piously spoke of his "compassionate conservativism," his actions revealed him as a big-money, big-corporation, big-government imperialist who was willing to talk cynically about freedom and democracy, while at the same time squandering our military forces by invading another country to steal its oil. Paul is none of the things that Bush is, and that, in itself, should endear him to all those who have hated what Bush has wrought during the past seven years.

Besides a physical obesity crisis in US, there is a crisis with an obese federal government that has burst the stitches of the Constitution intended to limit its size.

The good Dr. Paul has the crash diet prescription that will save the national patient's life and restore it to vibrant health.

Look at all the subjects squirm, "I need help, I cant do anything by myself - Without Govt telling me what to do I Would be lost"

I like the idea of working 6 months out of the year for Govt, I wouldnt know what to do with all that money.

I see a common thread developing in so far as Ron Paul''s brothel endorsement is concerned. It has become clear to me that those of us within society who feel that we have been screwed are now coming out and endorsing Ron Paul for President of the United States. I thank these courageous prostitutes for breaking with their fellow prostitutes (representatives) in Washington D.C., who so willingly sell themselves to corporations, special interests, foreign governments, and lobbyists of all stripes. Hopefully, many of our government "representatives" will stop prostituting themselves and get behind Ron Paul as well.

Ladies and Gentleman of America, we are broke and broken, we have given the servant too much authority and they will not give it back – we must take it back starting with responsibility. Ron Paul is different than others because he has a powerful message and classical plan of action. That plan is for you to decide what is best for your Life, Liberty, and Happiness. His actions will deliver you freedom.

The execution of the Ron Paul campaign, and its stunning success with both the number and the passion of his supporters, as well as the minimal control coming from campaign headquarters, typifies a fundamental libertarian principle that goes back to 1776, both politically (indepenence) and economically (Adam Smith’s “The Wealth of Nations”).

And that fundamental is spontaneous order, guided by Smith’s “invisible hand” of a free market avoiding central planning as much as possible. And it works, as can be seen by the amazing fund raising prompted by individuals the campaign has never even met.

Dr. Paul’s campaign has no speech writers, no image consultants, no political strategists, and no rapid response teams. He has been speaking the same fundamental message for 30 years, and as he goes from place to place sharing it, more and more supporters sign on and go on to spread it themselves.

Dr. Paul’s vision is to see the United States move toward a similar model, gradually pushing control of matters out of Washington toward the states and the people. The less influence coming from Washington, the better the country and the world will be.

Calling Ron Paul an "isolationist" makes about as much sense as labeling your best neighbor a "hermit" because he doesn't do donuts on your lawn or throw bricks through your windows.

The income tax could be eliminated if we use the FY 2000 budget. How nice would it be to not have so much of your paycheck taken from you every week? To not have to spend hours filing your income taxes and being afraid that you missed something or fearing a tax audit? It really says something that the average American is more afraid of getting audited than getting mugged. A mugging only lasts a few seconds and they only take what you have on you, the IRS can distroy your life and take everything you own.

Yes I believe it is just that,
An act of God. Yes I believe it is just that. A blessing not only that we have Ron Paul as a leader of integrity. We have had this leader for decades.

What has changed? We the people have changed and we have our Father in heaven to thank for this. We need not ever feel the need to shrink back from praising our God in whom we trust.

Dr. Paul,
I am sorry you had to shoulder the load alone for 30 years. I repent for my apathy for my country. I have been self centered, seeking out what the government could do for or give me. No more. It is time to give back, to take back. I just paid off my donations for November 5th. I am well prepared for the tea party. I always read my American history books with awe. I always wondered what it would be like to actually make a difference. Now is the time. This is the American peoples chance to do this without violence. We must unite and we must act. Let us deal with the treasonous, fire the bureaucrats, and lock up the law breakers.
We will carry you on our shoulders from here. Thank you.

Chris

After 4 months of some subtle campaigning (and some not so subtle), I have convinced every single person (nine of us) in my lab at work to hop on board the Ron Paul freedom train. As much as I'd like to take credit for this, the truth is Dr. Paul really sells himself. My only real input was to get some of them to listen.

What makes this so astounding is the total diversity of political views we all have. Amongst us there's a libertarian (me), an enviromentalist, an atheist hedonist, an African American liberal, a backwoods country hick, two non-political apathetic young kids, an abrasive anarchist, and even (hold onto your hat) a neo-con!! The neo-con, as you might have guessed, was the last hold-out, but he is totally sold now. He even donated on November 5th.

If this is not a perfect demonstration of the unifying power of freedom, then I don't know what is. I feel compelled to note what a wonderful rebuttal this real life scenario presents when offered up as a counter to Huckabee's ridiculous accusation, during one of the debates, that Dr. Paul's views were driving us to become the "Divided" States of America.

I've decided to support Ron Paul in the last 2 weeks. It seems that my experience has been shared by thousands. Denigrating Dr. Paul's supporters (Mr. Paul, if you insist, for whatever journalistic reason you are relying on, even though he is an M.D.,) as spambots is offensive. It would be more constructive if you wrote a story on why he is garnering support so quickly.

EVERY BRANCH of our federal government has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. The President too. As the executive, the President is in charge of enforcing the laws which the Congress enacts. If the President -- according to his oath -- understands and knows that one or more of those laws is unconstitutional, it is his DUTY and OBLIGATION not to enforce it! This opens the door to the true power of a Ron Paul presidency. Discover the constitution, and imagine what a man of Paul's integrity might do when faced with unconstitutional laws enacted by those who went before ...

I flew from Dallas to Philadelphia last weekend, what an event! It was so incredibly refreshing to see everyone across the age, gender, social, political, religious, ethnic spectrum there (5,000+ for the rally), and there were people "passionate" about their love of country! So much so that they WANT IT BACK!

Even the media is waking up to the fact that NO ONE on either side is stirring this much excitement (many for the first time) in the political process. Clearly, with Ron Paul, America WINS!

Misrepresentations of Dr. Paul's stances will continue. Dissinformation is the essential tool of the real war in our time; the Information War. As long as people rely on others in the media and elsewhere to shape their opinions for them, our country will continue to slide toward tyranny.

Just remember to refer people to Dr. Paul's public record, which is easily found at his website or publically available congressional websites. His record speaks for itself.

Those who insist on being spoon-fed 'facts' filtered through mass media are lost causes and a waste of time. Talk to those who will listen or otherwise move on. We know that Dr. Paul's popularity is much greater than the media is reporting. He represents a great awakening across this country and beyond.

Who is this Dr. Paul? In my neighborhood the police are being called out 3-4 times a week to control the massive crowds supporting Rudy Giuliani. His Contract with America will involve a man named Guido.

I am sooooo glad you described us supporters as "eclectic and highly-motivated" because I have grown weary of the usual adjectives like "fruitcakes" and "moonbats" - and yes indeed we ARE highly motivated - apparently more so than folks who say they "support" the other candidates!

I have voted Republican for over 30 years, but skipped the '04 primaries. Dang, because the pollsters don't call me. I wonder if I would have the same experiences others do, of Ron Paul not being offered as a choice so the poll goes to 'Other' or 'Undecided'. These last two candidates are together leading the GOP right now.

Ron Paul's message resonates because he is hitting on the country's biggest problems: the tanking dollar, corporatism, vanishing civil liberties, and of course the ill-advised war that Congress refused to declare when Ron Paul asked them to. People from all over the political spectrum can see that 'anointed' candidates, including Barack Obama, are not addressing these basic, yet so burning, issues.

You can count on him to do what he says. Look at how he runs his campaign.. instead of wasting money, like front runners, he proves to me that he will be wise with our money by how frugal he is.

This isnt his first rodeo folks.. There is a reason why he has been elected 10 times as a Republican in his district.

Im sure the party doesnt like Ron Paul shaking things up. The American people do and we need someone that isnt saying the same crap the person next to him is saying.

Also, they havent included Ron Pauls name in those 'scientific' polls. If FOX and the Iowa GOP exclude Paul in the next debate, Im sure Paul supporters will arrive in protest, and outnumber all the other candidates supporters.

I have never been polled. Has anyone else?

Thank you for your fair article. As a Ron Paul supporter, I can tell you, the articles haven't always been fair.

Ron Paul represents what has been missing from politics for so long - honesty, integrity, and a person you can actually trust. He sticks by his principles.

My husband brought me onto the Ron Paul bandwaggon. I liked what Ron Paul had to say when my husband tuned into the debates. When I found out he had been married for 50 years, I thought, 'Wow, what committment!" I shouldn't have been surprised. It is that same type of committment to his message and his beliefs that have made him the most consistent and prinicpled politician I have ever heard of, and certainly the most principled poltician I know of in the polticial arena today.

I used to be a Democrat and I have voted in every election since I was 18. Being as how the Democrats are neo-cons to nearly the same degree as the Republicans I will vote For Ron Paul this year.

I have been a republican for 20 years. I vote in every election. I will be voting for Ron Paul. He has consistently voted by his guiding principles his entire career. His campaign spending even reflects his ideals of small and efficient government. Every other candidate has huge staffs and blow thru their money, Ron Paul is frugal and effective and his staff is as bare bones as possible in order to use his money wisely. This is the approach he would take as President.

There are a lot of republicans like myself who hold true conservative values near and dear to their heart. Ron Paul is cut of our cloth.

I may not agree 100% with all of his agenda, but at least I know that what he says he means and this integrity will be brought to the Whitehouse. I think the phrase Citizen Statesman defines RP perfectly.

Why don't they talk about this guy more on TV? I think eliminating the IRS is the best idea I've heard in my entire life.

The media will no longer get away with incompetent propaganda. Remember the Berlin wall coming down? The keyboard is OUR sledgehammer. Goodbye "journalists". Good riddance.

I am a republican (1984) turned democrat(1986) turned libertarian(1988) turned democrat (2004) and now back to republican (2007) to vote for Ron Paul. He has given me hope for the constitution and our country for the first time in the last 23 years. Thank you Mr. Paul and thank you to all his supporters of liberty. The revolution has begun. The neocons will be flushed back down the toilet from which they came and our country will be saved!

I'm tired of giving 25% or more of my hard earned income to the IRS to be used to support this illegal war. I'm tired of watching the "federal reserve" i.e private bank manipulate the currency printing money out of thin air. Wake Up! Gold is hitting all time highs, oil is hitting all times highs, foreclosures at all time highs, and it now OK to torture, while your right to have an attorney is not longer guaranteed. I going to donate on November the 5th to help Ron Paul with the media bomb that is needed to wake up the masses.

No! It's not the efforts of a consistently principled man like Ron Paul that will put Hillary in office. It's the efforts of his Republican competitors -- those that ignore our precious Constitution -- that will put her in office. Ron Paul is not the one who should change. Rather, it's the candidates who choose to ignore what America is all about that should change. Don't you get it? We, the supporters of Ron Paul, want a proper, SMALL federal government! You perceive the two sides of the fight as the Republicans vs. Democrats. We Ron Paul supporters -- the patriotic lovers of liberty -- see the two sides of the fight as the big government Republicrats vs. small government champion Ron Paul. Never vote for what you perceive as the lesser of evils. You'll only ever get evil that way. It's only when people start demanding what they want that they'll ever get it. Vote for the morally good. Vote for Ron Paul.

Who IS Ron Paul?
Why would he get this much support?

Do your OWN homework.

NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!

Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.

Here is the transcript of an interview with Judy Woodruff in which Dr. Paul explains how he hopes to achieve some of the points of his platform.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/politics/july-dec07/paul_10-12.html

In a nutshell, he says he will have to have consensus and his growing support is showing that the consensus exists.

I guess the first question would be Why should they work an support the lessor of two evils. Many people support Ron Paul because he is what the republican party CLAIMS to be, however NO other candidate in the slate has the best interest of the nation, or the people as mission #1.

The rest of all the republicans will continue to finance and increase our 9.8 trillion dollar debt, so called free trade, limited government which for republicans and democrats alike is a joke.

In other words work to support a candidate that supports what you hold dear in your life, work to defeat those that don't.

honey, we've got an appointment with the good doctor. He said he will take care of that big government headache you've had for the past 30 years.

Spam was responsible for creating months of illusionary on-line support for Ron Paul for the three months before they were launched.

These treacherous emails were able to travel back in time create a hundreds (maybe thousands) of Youtube videos, generate hundreds and thousands of views, unique web traffic; 60,000 meetup.com volunteers and over five million dollars in campaign donations.

This new technology of being able to change the past with email spam must be harnessed, controlled, and used for good before someone gets hurt.

Someone should send out the same kind of spam to the whole world with a message showing disapproval for the war in Iraq. Then, we'll have all the spam that we need to prove that ALL people on the Internet really have supported the war in Iraq this whole time, and all of the internet disapproval was only spam. QUICKLY!!! BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

When Paul says he will cut spending, he can be believed. None of the others can. Any Republican who believes anything any of the others says about spending deserves to be lied to. Romney even occasionally trudges out the old "I'll cut waste, fraud and abuse" BS line, which every sentient creature has to understand means "I ain't cutting shit" by now.

Oh well, leave it to Ron Paul to write(you conveniently forgot to mention) this bill, in its entirety, on the heated campaign trail. This man works tirelessly for our constitution and is never involved in shady dealings. He can hold his head high and walk the floor. Nothing is ever too criminal for him to prosecute, because he is so clean!
That is why we like him...
You can say a lot of things about Ron Paul, but
ANY Democratic candidate would kill for his voting record and lack of controversy!
He believes he receives his power from the people and to go against the people would undercut his true source of power.
