Ron Paul - Republican Messiah?

Is there any hope for the Republican Party?
Does anyone care?
Why is the media trying to crucify Ron Paul?

People that care are coming out of the woodwork! The news is spreading that there is "a good man and true" running for president!

Dr. Ron Paul is the biggest thing to hit this country in generations, and (thanks to the anarchy of the internet) his message is beginning to resound far and wide. The message of true freedom and liberty is bound to resonate in the heart of anyone of good will.

Curiously enough -- and most telling! -- the Republican Party leadership (of late having become just another arm of the "Establishment Elite") are almost in a panic as they watch the meteoric rise of Dr. Paul and his message. The party is rushing to slam the door on all freshly minted enthusiasts for Dr. Paul by preventing them from voting in the primary elections. You can hear the echos from AD 33: "We do not want this man to rule over us!" "We have no king but Ceasar!" "Crucify him!"

On the other side of the story, there are also a few doubts.

Ron Paul is such a breath of fresh air for this country.... He seems too good to be true! Could he possibly even be the Anti-Christ? Another echo comes down through the ages: "Are you The One promised, or should we seek another?"

There should be reassuring news for both sides:

Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world."
Ron Paul is not a kingdom builder, rather, he wants to dismantle the bloated and worn out kingdom of the Neocons.

If you are a student of history, you should know that long ago, when God's people were in deep trouble, they cried out for deliverance. How did God answer? Often in the form of "judges" that he raised up. The judges were mere men, but they often served as "lightning rods" that captured the imagination of the people.

Gideon was one such judge. Did he have a large following? Did he NEED a large following? As a matter of record, God instructed him to send home more than he kept. In the final analysis, Gideon fielded only 300 men, and yet God used that to completely route the army of the Midianites.
